Films
Introduction
A film that is based on a true story, often involving history, real life stories or anything that would be of public interest.
Strengths
Some films are factually correct, in cases like this it could help people understand more about certain subjects, that they do not have prior knowledge about, also it may inspire a person to truely believe in something. Many films that are based on true accounts, can educate many people, whether it is through a documentary or a film. They can be used as a vital resource for people who study history for example, as these films can form the basis of their studies.
Weaknesses
Some films may follow the story loosely, therefore, not giving the whole picture, leaving parts of the story out. This can be seen as a weakness due to the fact that because they've tailored the story to the audience, often glamorising many scenes, it isn't factually correct and may led to many people believing that it happened, when in fact it didnt.
Evaluation
Overall, films that are based on true stories, can be seen as a good foundation for an individual who is willing to learn about the subject covered. However, because it is often tailored to the audience to make it more exciting and interesting, you can't always follow it exactly.

Personal accounts
Introduction
A personal account is a range of many aspects and an analyisis of a certan subject. It is an individuals own explaination of a certain experience they may of had, which are often used to to analyse an event.
Strengths
A personal account of 9/11 from an individual, can have some strengths. One example of a strength is the emotional side of the subject. Many people would be able to look into the account and feel empathy for the individual and try to understand what they were going through at the time of the event. Although they were not there, they could feel for the individual.
Weaknesses
With personal accounts involving 9/11, it is often hard to tell whether they are factually correct. This can be down to the fact that many Americans can be portryed to have a strong feeling of patriotism, meaning that could likely of exaggerated their account to make it sound worse than it actually was. Another weakness can be shown through time, as time goes on, personal accounts can be seen as less reliable.
Evaluation
In conclusion, a personal account can be good for the emotional side of a story, everyone who went through that experience will each have a personal account that they could share with eachother and help them move on from the situation by supporting eachother. On the other hand, the reliabilty of the personal account can always come into question when considering the amount of people involved and whether they exaggerate part of the story or even create images of the event that didnt actually happen.

Documentaries
Introduction
Documentaries involve a wide range of non fictional motion pictures, with its main purpose being to document some parts of reality, in order to instruct or maintain a historical record.
Strengths
One way documentaries can help in your understanding of 9/11, is because of the vast amount of real life footage taken at the scene. This means that many people who weren't there can experience the situation from the witnesses point of view. This also means that it can show definate factual events and not re=created to make the story look more exciting
Weaknesses
One weakness can be shown through propaganda, documentaries on 9/11 can be tailored to a specific audience, such as the americans, by making it overly patriotic and showing the iraqi's in a bad light. By this the watchers may become angry with the whole of iraq, when in fact it was only involving the group from Al qaeda, not the nation as a whole.
Evaluation
Overall, documentaries are a good source when wanted to see what actually happened through real life shots. however, some documentaries may be used in a bad way publically showing a group of people as a whole rather than just the terrorits involved.
Image
Introduction
a picture of a scene from 9/11, that can be taken on a camera or phone by any whitness such as a passer by or journalist.
Strengths
It can tell us about the emotional side of the person in the picture, by taking into account the body language, posture and facial expression of the person and also the environment around them.
Weaknesses
One weakness of images is that it doesnt tell the whole story of 9/11, it just shows what one person or a group was feeling at the time.
Evaluation
Images are good if you want to back up a point about 9/11 such as how the mood was at the time. however, because it does not show the whole story, it is impossible to know from just looking at that image what was really happening around them at the time and also what happened before and after.
Painting
Introduction
an artists impression of the scene of 9/11
Strengths
Can show the emotion of the event and by just looking at it people can become inspired in believing in it and easily understand what is going on in the painting.
Weaknesses
Is only from one point of view, the artists. This can be a problem for the fact that it firstly doesn't represent the whole story, just one moment in time and secondly, the artist may not have even been there at the time of the event therefore, could not possibly know what actuallty went on so may not be a reliable source. furthermore, the artist may be painting from memory and leave parts of the scene out.
Evaluation
As it is only from one point of view and clearly from after the event, it cant easily be trusted as it for one doesnt show the whole story and two could just be the artists interpretation.
Forensic Science
Introduction:
Forensic science is scientific methods on crime scenes, such as blood tests and DNA tests. This would be used on human remains and also remains of the site of 9/11 to gain evidence for the bigger picture of the story.
Strengths: From tests on the victims personal belongings, such as jewelery and also dental records, using DNA testing for example, can be seen as a strength as it has brought closure for many of the victims families by identifying whether they are really dead or not. This closure for many of the families is important as they no longer have to wait to know what happened to their family member. With increased technology, many more samples even to this day can be re-sampled and tested, there will be more closure to the thousands of families who are still wondering about their loved one.
Weaknesses:
Forensic science may not always be reliable due to human error. As there was a vast amount of evidence to be brought into the laboratories at the early stage following the event, this meant samples may have got mixed up therefore, decreasing the reliabilty and accuracy of the test and not making it true. Many of the evidence that could have been collected after 9/11, was either destroyed or taken away meaning there are still many pieces of the story missing that will never be found out.
Evaluation:
Forensic Science is a good way in which many of the bodies of the 9/11 victims could be identified, giving much support to the family members of the victims. However, at the first insight of the event, samples may not have been handled correctly and therefore, decreasing the reliablilty of the source.
Human remain
Introduction:
The human remains left at the site of 9/11 can indicate what went on inside the building and show how people died in different situations. It is also a vital piece of evidence.
Strengths:
One strength of human remains, is for the fact that it is evidence for the 9/11 attacks. This is becuase firstly, it gives facts and figures on how many people survived in the twin towers and on the planes and also figures on how many people have been unidentified and missing. This evidence would also be vital support and confirm many of the stories surrounding the attack. For example, evidence from human remains may show whether the impact of the planes hitting the towers would have killed the people on board or whether they died some time before. Either way, it would confirm or disreguard a story making it official or non official. Another stregnth is that it gives an insight on how many of the people died and gives us a bigger picture of the finer details of the story.
Weaknesses:
Human remains are one way that many of the families of the victims of 9/11 were told whether their family member was dead or missing. This can be a problem as the pieces of debris can be small and get mixed up with the debris from the building, making it difficult to distinguish between the two. this would mean that many people were not found and authorities would have found it extremly difficult to get in touch with as many families as they could. Human remains could also of been tampered with because they were also found some time after the event and also away from the site, taking away some of the vital evidence needed to be put forward to conclude some official stories of what happened on that day.
Evaluation:
Human reamains are a reliable source in one way for 9/11 research as they provide a basis for how many people were killed, missing identified and unidentified. Their remains also conclude many stories surrounding how people died and at what times etc. However, because some were too small to be tested meaning, there will not always b 100% figures for many of the bodies.
National Archives
Introduction
The National Archives is the UK government's official archive, containing over 1,000 years of history. The UK give detailed guidance to government departments and the public sector on information such as jobs, hometown, where they live and many more, this infomation could tell about the care or history of their families or more detailed information.
Strengths
This is a reliable source for any one who wants to find out infomation on records such as home town, jobs, what they do and how they did it, it also will show people medical and dental records.
Weaknesses
There are reliable infomation, and it doesnt come cheap, you have to pay for your answer.if you have a criminal record and looking for a job, even if is 20 years ago, your criminal records will show up.
Evaluation
This offical records is a good reliable source even though you have to pay for it, you will get your answer and details from official records.

I have seen the video about 9/11 victims Stanley and Brian, Stanley and Brian were two brave men that survived on the 86th floor of the South World Trade Centre, the second one to get hit buy a plane on the events of 9/11.
The story that they told me how they survived on that day was interesting; two middle aged men helping eachother to get out of those situation was unbelievable, they were lucky to survive in the the world trade centre. How they helped eachother was brave and unselfish they were brave enough to risk their life to save a co-worker.

I watched the video were Brian gave Stanley his card and they lost eachother out side of the world trade centre and Stanley thought that it was a gaurdian angel helping him out and saving his life but when he checked his pockets, it was Brians card.

I also watched the video of Gary Marlon Suson, it should be very intimidating when there was a fireman coming up to him to tell him not to take pictures of the two World Trade centres, some of the pictures I find very emotional, in this picture I can see that he is sad, depressed and praying for Gods help. He also said in the video there were some groups that let him in to take picture at Ground Zero. I'm very intrested in how he did make a few friends at Ground Zero and some how let him take pictures of them and the site of 9/11.
